Miami Fans Reaction To GM Hiring
I'm from Miami born and raised here, If anyone knows the frustration and anguish that dolphin fans go thru its me, since the day I was born I was wearing aqua and orange. I know we've had our good moments, our historical moments, our forgettable ones as well and of course our disappointing moments. We as a fan base must set an example to other cities that we are not band wagon fans, yes it hurts to see your team year in and year out struggling to win and for that matter make the playoffs, but we can not turn our back on this team, I urge you to stand behind this team because just like anything it will come around and i believe when its our time we will shine just as bright as the State of Florida.
I urge fans to give Dennis Hickey an opportunity to show what he has and what his experience can bring to the table, no one is a success over night. Dennis Hickey has a wealth of knowledge in the personnel side of things, he has been a scout, also was part of the 2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers championship team. I will give the benefit of the doubt that this man can help turn things around, need I Remind the same fan base that when Bill Parcells was first hired everyone was applauding the move out bursts of joy with people saying finally a football mind and in the end his tenure with the Dolphins you ask anyone now what they think of Parcell's stay and you will get mixed reviews and more often then not you will hear that he stunk and that he was here just collecting a check. My point in mentioning Parcell's is that the sexy name is not always the right name, you also have to keep in mind that at one point all these so called experts and can't miss GM's were unknowns.
In the end Dolphin Fans instead of bashing and asking what if, or what about this guy or maybe we should of hired this other guru, we should take the time to educate ourselves on who Dennis Hickey is, What his professional background is and how much did he have in selecting, evaluating and determining potential players wether it would be thru the draft, free agency or thru trade.
I can only is ask for our fair city and its Miami Dolphin fans to give him a chance let him hit the ground running and begin to work, he has a huge task ahead of him which will be to upgrade the roster after the collapse late in the season. You want your new hire to feel welcome and that he has the opportunity to show us he was the right man for the job, not to make him feel like no matter what he does won't be good enough. For all of you who are wondering when will he be introduced to the fan base, reports are stating that the press conference will be Tuesday.

Miami Dolphins New General Manager
The Circus that was the search for a new General Manager is finally over, league sources have confirmed that Dennis Hickey of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has been hired as the new GM. Dennis Hickey was considered a dark horse, but once Nick Caserio of the New England Patriots turned down the offer that was presented to him last night that opened the door for Dennis Hickey who according to reports and sources really wowed owner Stephen Ross.
Dennis Hickey spent the last three seasons as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Director of Player Personnel, Hickey is 43 years old, started as a scout and was recognized for having a major role in the acquisition of players like; (Safety) Dashon Goldson, (CB) Darelle Revis and also responsible for developing a draft plan to bring in (Cornerback) Jonathan Banks, (Running Back) Doug Martin and (Defensive End) Adrian Clayborn.
The Miami Dolphins can now move forward and not feel left behind as the rest of the teams are busy scouting potential draftable players and preparing for free-agency.
